The training begins with a face-to-face Orientation Day, and continues with a mixture of online Foundations of Traffic Safety Education and pedagogy lessons, classroom teaching, and behind-the-wheel training. Courses meet on all dates listed. Unless previously arranged with instructor, participants must attend all course meetings in order to pass the course.

Register online by clicking the "Register Online" link next to the class you want to take. If you need to register by phone, call our office at (503) 838-9237. We encourage participants to register as far ahead of time as possible; preferably at least one week before the course start date. Once the class has started, late registrations will not be accepted.
is funded by a grant from ODOT for Oregon residents. Participants are
responsible for paying their own materials fee of $95. Those who are not
residents of Oregon may still take the training, but must pay the full tuition.

However, ODOT will only pay the course tuition one time per person. The
fee to retake the training is dependent on the participant's progress in
Earning College Credit
Academic credit is
available for participants for an additional fee. Students with a BA/BS
degree have the option of earning graduate-level credit (typically
requested by teachers needing credits for renewing their licenses).
Students registered for graduate-level credit must complete additional
work within six weeks of course completion. Participants must register
and pay for academic credits before the last class meeting. Tuition is
$280 for four credits or $560 for eight credits. Registration for credit is available via WOU's Division of Extended Programs, (503) 838-8483.
To cancel a registration and receive a refund of material fees paid, a cancellation notice must be faxed to 503-838-8150, attn. Traffic Safety Education or e-mailed to email@example.com prior to the first class meeting. All course materials must be returned to WOU in perfect condition.
